A lair full of percussion ⬩ The Little Rudolfinum
Become apprentice magicians in the percussion kingdom, where the magician Pavel Polívka lives. Everyone will feel safe there, like in a lair, even if there happens to a frightful atmosphere at the moment inside the Rudolfinum, with rumbling thunder, rain, or a stampede of horses. We will also encounter some stray, disobedient tympani, the crashing
Programme
This workshop focuses on rhythm and the observing of percussion instruments like tympani, marimba, and snare drum – Pavel Polívka, a member of the philharmonic, will provide commentary and graphic demonstrations. In addition, during the first half, the children will learn some basic rhythms and will make sounds and noises with their bodies, then on the second half of the programme, they will use what they have learned to become part of a fairytale about “The Stray Tympani”.
