Veronika won the first Russian TV contest ‘'Grand opera'’, as well as the famous Maria Callas Grand Prix (2005). As an Honorary Artist of the Russian Federation, she shines at the stages of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, and Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.
The stunning soprano has touched the hearts of opera lovers not only in Russia, but also internationally. For the past few seasons she has enjoyed ovations in renowned opera houses in Zürich, Hamburg, Houston, Tokyo, Helsinki, as well as the National Theatre in Prague.
It was on the stage of the National Theatre in Prague in Tchaikovsky's ‘’Iolanta'’ that charming Veronika encountered Eduard Martynyuk. The beautiful duet of their unique voices and their exceptional artistic qualities gained great acclaim amongst audiences.
In the Czech Republic, Eduard Martynyuk has been cast not only as Valmont in Tchaikovsky’s ‘’Iolanta'’, but has also delivered an excellent performance of Don José in ‘'Carmen’’ by George Bizet. This role was another occasion for Czech audiences to savour the talents of the phenomenal singer on a local stage. The piece was played with tremendous success in the National Theatre, where Eduard enjoyed well-deserved ovations. He could also be heard as Herman at the premiere of ‘’The Queen of Spades’’ opera in the Janáček Theatre in Brno, where he starred alongside the Czech legend Soňa Červená.
Eduard Martunyuk is a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre in Minsk and also in the Alte Oper Erfurt in Germany. Last year he gave his debut performance at the acclaimed Salzburger Festspiele in Austria.
