100 Minutes among the Notes

100 Minutes among the Notes

This special musical performance brings together different generations, different musical approaches, and different instruments to bring music to life. The music is created by a group effort on the spot, and it can never be repeated. What role does music play in finding a shared language?

Ondřej Tichý and his guests

The program is based on a musical part but also on a spoken word that will be given in Czech language only. The program will not be supplied with English subtitles.

Welcome to a 100-minute journey to discover what music teaches us in the silence between the notes. Taking part in the performance are participants in the project Through Music to Ourselves, which is taking place at selected schools and in families. Leading the programme is teacher, musician, and concept author Ondřej Tichý.

Through Music to Ourselves runs a music education concept that opens up music to various generations and familiarises participants with the principles of playing an instrument, the use of the voice, elementary composing, and improvisation through practical playing. It encompasses individual instruction, encounters in families, programmes at schools, auxiliary programmes for children and adults, musical workshops, and performances. “I am deeply convinced,” says Ondřej Tichý, “that music opens up completely different possibilities for us and can be a special help in the family, education, and the lives of each of us.”
