The first concert under the baton of Robert Jindra, principal guest conductor of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, will open with the world premiere of a new composition by Šimon Voseček. A Czech composer living in Austria and graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, he gained a reputation as a composer of operas and instrumental works. In the new piece for mezzo-soprano, baritone and orchestra commissioned by the PRSO, he set to music the erotic poetry of French satirical poets of the 17th century. We will stay in Austria for the second half of the evening, as we will hear Symphony No. 4 called “Romantic”, a composition of monumental beauty. Anton Bruckner composed it in 1874 but kept returning to it and reworked it repeatedly over the next fifteen years.
