Piotr Anderszewski piano
One of the most valued musicians of today returns to the festival after five years. During his last visit, music critics raved about his interpretation of the Bach programme at the Rudolfinum. Now Anderszewski will complement his favourite composer with two exceptional authors from the Central European region, whose choice seems to reflect the pianist´s own Polish-Hungarian origin. Although both Karol Szymanowski and Béla Bartók travelled half of Europe, they always found new ways to apply folk influences overheard at roughly the same time in regions on both sides of the Tatra Mountains. Bach, however, will prevail in the concert at least in length. The French-style Ouverture alone is probably the composer´s longest suite for piano, and will uplift us with influences from the French tradition for a good half hour.
The Rudolf Firkušný Piano Festival is organized by Prague Spring Festival.
