Do you know which instrument the violins, basses, clarinets, and all of the other instruments of the orchestra have to listen to before a concert begins? Which instrument of the orchestra plays the tuning note? That’s right, it’s the oboe! And do you know what it has in common with the English horn? Can you solve musical riddles just using your ears? How long can you hiss like baby snakes? Did you know that oboists have to be skilled at woodworking?
Come with us to meet the oboist Vladislav Borovka.
The programme focuses mainly on listening activities, but there will be movement, too. With the help of an oboe (and an English horn), we will be differentiating between various noises and sounds. And we will discover the difference between a quarter note and an eighth note.
