Czech Philharmonic ⬩ Budapest
At this international festival honouring Béla Bartók, one simply must play something by that important Hungarian composer. The choice fell to the suite from his ballet pantomime The Miraculous Mandarin. Also on the programme are a ballet suite by Igor Stravinsky and a brand new piano concerto by Thierry Escaich played by Seong-Jin Cho.
