Zelenka‘s last mass composition, Missa Omnium Sanctorum, is an example of emotionally charged style of extreme virtuosity, which is based mainly on the Italian Catholic tradition but sprinkled with Zelenka‘s originality and astonishing invention. Handel‘s music for the psalm Dixit Dominus also pushes the limit of interpretation possibilities: the listener is truly overwhelmed by the endless fireworks of ideas and the employment of various compositional techniques.
