A Lair Full of Percussion
Become apprentice magicians in the percussion kingdom, where the wizard Pavel Polívka lives. Everyone will feel safe there, like in a den, even if there happens to a frightful atmosphere at the moment inside the Rudolfinum, with rumbling thunder, rain, or a stampede of horses.

The programme is based on a musical part but also on a spoken word that will be given in Czech language only. The programme will not be supplied with English subtitles.
The workshop focuses on rhythm and learning about percussion instruments like the timpani, marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, and snare drum, and a Czech Philharmonic percussion magician provides commentary and demonstrations. For the first half, we learn some basic rhythms and make sounds and noises with our bodies, then in the second half of the programme we use these sounds to tell a story "About the Stray Timpani".
