Come see and hear a remarkable number of percussion instruments! With the Czech Philharmonic percussionist Pavel Polívka, you will visit a world of traditional and exotic percussion: coconuts, gourds, and even hooves. We’ll show you the influence rhythmic accompaniments have on the sound of classical compositions like Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Ode to Joy or Mozart's Requiem, and there will also be film music where percussion instruments play an indispensable role. Everything will be in the form of an active workshop.

The programme is based on a musical part but also on a spoken word that will be given in Czech language only. The programme will not be supplied with English subtitles.
