András Cséfalvay | Music Pop Up in the Exhibition | Art Sounds ⬩ Sahej Rahal: Beyond the City of Time

András Cséfalvay: When touch and translation is impossible, I sing.

 

As a part of the accompanying programme Art Sounds to the exhibition Sahej Rahal: Beyond the City of Time, Slovak artist András Cséfalvay will present his musical performance When touch and translation is impossible, I sing. on Thursday, March 5 at 6 pm. Admission is CZK 180. Tickets will be available for purchase before the start of the event at Galerie Rudolfinum.

 

“When the other side does not speak my language, or does not speak at all, is mute, all models break down, the only open communication channel between alien species is a display of vulnerability. This is why I sing – an artist performance meeting other worlds.”

 

András Cséfalvay

A visual artist, digital storyteller, musician and mytho-poet from Bratislava, and also an Associate Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. After studying painting and mathematics Cséfalvay wrote his dissertation on the usefulness and reality of fiction. His work is interested in the relationship between culture and technology, and political and ethical aspects of listening to non-dominant voices in world interpretation.  His projects have been shown in Trafó Budapest, Karlin Studios Prague, KW Berlin, Muzeum Sztuki in Lodz, Art in General New York, ISCP New York, Firstdraft Sydney and Slovak National Gallery among others. He has been recognized with distinctions including the Oskár Čepan Award and the Tatra Banka Foundation Award for Art.
